To the Parents
UNIFIED 1:27 is the name of our youth ministry here at Temple Baptist Church are made up of very vibrant & thriving young people. We recognize this group is the future leaders of the church & must be prepared for the future, even life at the present moment. Their salvation & spiritual growth are paramount. Philippians 1:27 (above) is the verse we rally around in order to find confidence in our Lord Jesus Christ, walking as He walked in this world along with each other. In prayer of creating an environment of community among believers, not only in church, but also carrying that experience beyond the walls of Temple. While UNIFIED 1:27 involves many events such as Backyard Bible Studies, concerts, Fuge, etc, the highest priority is teaching the Bible & making sure a firm scriptural foundation is laid. We believe “All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness;” 2 Timothy 3:16. As leaders of UNIFIED 1:27, we are dedicated to teaching the truth of the scriptures & train our young people to “always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in [them]you,” 1 Peter 3:15. Romans 10:17 tells us, “So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the Word of Christ.”
We believe our decision to repent of our sin and place our faith in Jesus Christ and submit to His lordship is the most important decision a person will ever make. Our pledge to parents and young people is to teach them the infallible, inerrant Word of God.
To the Young People
Now that we have the parents feeling better about our focus, let’s turn our attention to you, UNIFIED 1:27, TBC Youth. We have a great time together, looking forward to gathering with each other, and striving for the gospel of Christ. This diverse group is the best place to be, the easiest to get involved in, & welcoming folks. We encourage you to come and share life with us!
Sunday Morning Life-Group (Sunday School)
We gather on Sunday mornings at 9:30 AM in the “upper room” where we discuss the scriptures & learn how to make practical use of them in everyday life, not just on church campus. This is an exciting time to be with each other in fellowship and worship God through studying His word, as we get ready for worship service at 10:40 AM. Wednesday Evenings
The Middle of the week is the perfect time to wind down with friends & get built up in the Word. We gather as a group but will often split up into separate classes for boys and girls for different subject matters as we work through the scriptures. We participate in games, watch videos, discuss content and life issues, and have Bible study & fellowship. We begin at 6:30 PM and wrap up at 8 PM.
Backyard Bible Studies
We will have these as often as we can, meeting at church members' homes, local restaurants, etc in order to hang out & end the night with Bible study. All will be announced & planned with YOUR involvement.
Communication
Facebook & Instagram are social media avenues we use in order to give mass info about what is happening in UNIFIED 1:27. We also utilize a text messaging service for important updates.
