Hello Temple family. I’m excited to have this blog spot to share what the Lord is teaching me, and doing in my life as your pastor. I love transparency and I believe it is a key component in a healthy relationship. This will afford me a way to share my heart with you more often.
I’m also excited that it will give me an opportunity, at times, to share with you significant spiritual things from the lives of our brothers and sisters in Christ. Occasionally I’ll post something like what you’ll see below. It was written by one of our youth. 15 year old Hannah-Grace and her family met with me recently about a mission trip she’s heading out on in March 2025.
During that meeting, she shared with me this devotional which she’d written and presented to her classmates. I pray it encourages you, as it did me, knowing we have a generation of Kingdom minded young people coming behind us.
IHS,
Pastor Shane
Patience.
We can all say, “yeah I have patience”, when we’re faced with small problems, but do you really have patience? What about when we’re worried about waiting for the results on a big test, or wondering if you’re going to perform well at a game or competition. True Patience is waiting on Gods timing, even when you really want something to happen. Patience is trusting that God has a time and a place for everything.
Psalms 37: 7-9 says, “Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him; Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, Because of the man who carries out wicked schemes. Cease from anger and forsake wrath; Do not fret; it leads only to evildoing. For evildoers will be cut off, But those who wait for the Lord, they will inherit the land.”
This tells us that when it seems like everything good is happening to everyone else, it doesn’t mean that nothing good is coming your way. It just means that it’s not in Gods timing. So whether everything seems to be going your way or not, just know that God sees you, He has a plan for you, and He has perfect timing. So just have patience.
